Reigning GT Sprint Cup champions, Arise Racing GT has submitted its first entry for this year’s GT World Challenge powered by AWS, with Elliott Schutte and Jaxon Evans committed for the full season.
The pair will reunite in the same Ferrari 296 GT3 they shared for their maiden GT World Challenge Australia season together in 2024, where they will look to build on an impressive third-place finish in the overall Sprint Cup Pro-Am standings. Both drivers enter the 2025 season with plenty of experience behind the wheel, with Evans having had successful stints in a number of highly esteemed international championships, including Intercontinental GT Challenge, Porsche Supercup and Porsche Carrera Cups Germany and France – the latter of which he won in 2020.
The New Zealander also boasts a wealth of experience in Australia, having won Porsche Carrera Cup Australia in 2018 and contesting a number of national GT events, as well as being a current fixture in Supercars with Brad Jones Racing. As for Schutte, his racing experience is all within Australia where he has enjoyed plenty of silverware across a range of national categories. His most notable performances came in a multi-year stint in Radical Cup Australia with his best result being second overall in 2023.
Schutte then made the big move to GT World Challenge Australia with Arise Racing GT last year, where he and Evans picked up a victory at Phillip Island, multiple podiums and a pole position for a successful year overall. Both Schutte and Evans were behind the wheel of their Ferrari 296 GT3 for this year’s Bathurst 12 Hour, winning the Pro-Am class in the Intercontinental GT Challenge season opener alongside Alessio Rovera and Brad Schumacher.
As Australia’s sole Ferrari factory-supported GT racing team, Arise Racing GT is still in the process of locking in its second entry, with Schutte and Evans to begin their 2025 campaign at the Shannons SpeedSeries’ GT Festival Phillip Island on 4-6 April.
Tickets for the Shannons SpeedSeries season opener can be purchased via motorsporttickets.com.au.
QUOTES Elliott Schutte#26 Ferrari 296 GT3 "I'm really excited to be heading into my second season in GT3, with Arise Racing GT and Jaxon. Jaxon and I built a strong foundation last year, and that continuity will help us push even further this season," said Schutte. "Starting the year off winning PRO-AM at the Bathurst 12 hour was an incredible experience and the whole team left with a lot of confidence. "I’m looking forward to carrying that momentum into the season ahead."
Jaxon Evans #26 Ferrari 296 GT3 "It’s fantastic to be back with Arise Racing GT for my second season. Finishing third in the championship last year was a great achievement, and it’s given us a strong foundation to build on,” said Evans.
“The experience gained in 2024—both in terms of understanding the car and working closely with the team—will be invaluable as we push for even better results this season.
“One of the biggest positives last year was seeing Elliot’s massive improvement from start to finish. His development was really impressive, and as a team, that progress has given us a lot of confidence heading into 2025.
“Balancing this program with my Supercars commitments will be a fun challenge, but it’s one I’m really looking forward to. Both categories demand a lot, but I thrive on that level of competition. I feel well-prepared to take another step forward and make the most of every opportunity this season."
