Arise Racing GT delivered outstanding performances at the Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia final round held at the iconic Bathurst track taking the title in the team’s debut season.

The team, supported by Laurence Escalante’s Lance East Exotics, secured the overall Pro-Am Drivers Championship win with Chaz Mostert and Liam Talbot this past weekend, while Jaxon Evans and Elliott Schutte secured 3rd place in the championship.

Additionally, the team celebrated an amazing victory by clinching the Pro-Am Teams Sprint Championship win, an incredible result for the Arise Racing GT debut racing season.

Jordan Oon, team principal, was over the moon with the results from the weekend, saying:

"Reflecting on this season, it’s incredible to see how far we’ve come as a team. Starting Arise Racing GT and competing at such a high level has been an extraordinary journey.

“We had the goal in sight of clinching the Pro-Am Drivers and Teams championship in our debut season, and the dedication and hard work from every single member of our team have truly brought that to reality.

This is how the final round of the Championship went down:

The team started strong with Mostert securing Pole Position with a blistering 2:00.986. However, due to a technical irregularity, the P1 position was lost. Talbot backed up the #1 car duo by taking pole position in qualifying 2. Evans led the way with the #8 car taking 3rd, while Schutte brought it home in 5th place.

Race 1 at Bathurst began with a delay due to a timing fault, leaving the cars parked on the front straight. As the shortened race commenced, Talbot led the pack right up until the pit stops, where both car #1 and #8 carried success penalties from the previous round. The pro drivers took over and finished strong, with Mostert achieving a podium finish in 3rd place, while Jaxon climbed back to 6th place, securing valuable championship points.

On Sunday, Evans started on the front row without any success penalty, making himself and Schutte strong contenders for the win. Mostert had his work cut out, starting from the back row, but quickly progressed through the field in the race's opening stages, while car #8 was running in 2nd. The pit stops created some chaos, and a very tight release of the car back into pit lane resulted in a 5-second time penalty for car #8.

The top 3 of the race were tightly packed, and Schutte managed to take the lead with 15 minutes to go. Talbot raced his way onto the back of the pack, with the top 4 cars separated by just 3 seconds. Despite Schutte putting on a great display of driving to come home 1st on track, the penalty dropped him to 4th position, which elevated Talbot to 3rd.

Arise Racing GT wins GT World Challenge Australia on debut 

Over the weekend, Arise Racing GT participated in the GT World Challenge 3 Hour Endurance race which took place at Sydney Motorsport Park, marking a vital step in their preparation for next year’s Bathurst 12 Hour. Free practice proved challenging, largely due to the unfavourable BOP for the round, but the team pushed through and focused on the race pace of the Ferrari’s. After qualifying, both cars made it into the top ten shootout, with the bronze drivers to lead the charge for the 2 lap dash, resulting in 4th place for Liam Talbot in the #1 car, and 7th for Elliott Schutte in the #8.

As the sun was going down the race kicked off, and the Ferrari’s quickly moved through the field, racing forward in the early stages to sit in 1st and 3rd position, which they held for most of the race. Multiple safety car deployments added complexity, but the team looked strong for a double podium after the completion of the 2nd hour. Liam had extended the gap to 2nd place by over 6 seconds as he led the way into the pits for the last pit stop and driver change, coming out of the pits in 2nd. While Jaxon took over the wheel in the #8 car and came out in 3rd.

As they entered the final hour, they found themselves at a disadvantage to the leader, running a different strategy which had seen them pit earlier throughout the last safety car, meaning they didn’t need to pit under green flag conditions. The #1 car, driven by Chaz Mostert, reduced the gap to the leading car from over 50 seconds to 8 seconds throughout the final hour of the race.

In the end, it was the Chaz Mostert and Liam Talbot duo bringing home 2nd place, with Jaxon Evans and Elliott Schutte battling hard but narrowly missing out on a podium and coming home in 4th.

Team principal Jordan Oon shared his thoughts on the 3-hour race "The Team made incredible progress this weekend in our first endurance race. Both pit stops and strategy were executed perfectly however, luck just wasn’t on our side this time. A huge thank you and credit to all our drivers for their stellar performances throughout the weekend, and now we’re fired up and ready to charge into the final sprint round at Bathurst!"

Looking ahead, all focus for the team is on the final round of the GT World Challenge Australian Championship where they currently sit 1st and 3rd in the driver standings and lead the way in the teams championship. The final round will take place at Bathurst on the 9th and 10th of November.

Strong Performance by Arise Racing GT

The Arise Racing GT team showcased their impressive skills at the Fanatec GT Festival at Phillip Island, securing great results across the weekend.

In Race 1, the Ferrari duo of Chaz Mostert and Liam Talbot clinched victory with a strong performance, leading from lights out to the chequered flag. Jaxon Evans and Elliott Schutte fought their way forward after some lap 1 carnage, being shuffled back to 10th after the opening lap and racing back up to 4th position. Unfortunately, they suffered a right rear puncture three laps from the end. Despite this setback, Evans and Schutte managed to finish ninth.

Race 2 saw another stellar performance from the Ferrari team, with Jaxon Evans and Elliott Schutte securing their first victory of the season, and the third victory for the team. They finished just 0.29 seconds ahead of Chaz Mostert and Liam Talbot, who had additional time added during their pitstop.

Several incidents occurred, including a spin by the Triple Eight Mercedes at Turn 2 on the first lap and a collision involving Jayden Ojeda and Alex Gardner, which necessitated the first Safety Car period. Schutte emerged as the leader after the pitstops. With the safety car bunching the pack back up, Talbot impressively managed to overtake his way from 5th to 2nd in a handful of laps and close in on his teammate.

The race was a testament to the excitement and unpredictability of GT racing.

Reflecting on the weekend, Team Principal Jordan Oon remarked, “This weekend has been a result of the hard work and dedication of our entire team. Chaz and Liam taking out pole position for both classes and backing it up with the Race 1 victory was an incredible performance. To finish off the weekend with a 1 – 2 finish for the team, seeing Elliott and Jaxon take their first win for the season was the cherry on top. We are incredibly proud of our drivers and the entire crew and look forward to the last sprint round of the championship.”

Chaz and Liam have now extended their championship lead to 30 points clear of 2nd, with Elliott and Jaxon moving into 3rd position trailing 2nd place by just 4 points. Arise Racing GT have now taken the lead in the Teams Championship.


Ferrari Shines at Fanatec GT Festival in Phillip Island

The third round of the championship, held over the August 2-4 weekend, was anticipated to be challenging due to the track layout favouring the opposition with the Ferrari, known for excelling in high-speed corners, also facing an unfavourable Balance of Performance (BOP) following early season success. Despite these hurdles, the team aimed for damage limitation and succeeded. Mostert and Talbot managed to retain their lead in the championship by a narrow one-point margin. Evans and Schutte are in 5th place, just 20 points behind their teammates, keeping them firmly in the championship race.


The first race was eventful. Liam Talbot started the race from the back of the grid due to an impeding penalty in qualifying and impressively climbed to third place, putting the car in contention for a podium finish. Mostert took over and, despite steering damage from a collision with title rival Will Brown while avoiding a multi-car accident, managed to finish the race. Evans and Schutte had a strong performance in the first race, after incurring a carried over success penalty from round 2, the boys pushed on and finished in 4th place. They were in contention for a podium spot throughout the race.


Jordan Oon, Team Principal, commented, “The first race was an absolute rollercoaster with the amount of safety cars, however, both cars made incredible efforts to maximise points and our championship position.”


The second race was more controlled. Evans, running in fourth, led Mostert for much of the stint. After the pit stops, Talbot and Schutte were on the hunt for third place. Unfortunately, Schutte was caught up with a back marker, losing significant time, which left Talbot to finish 4th and Schutte in 6th.


Oon remarked, “Race two was about maintaining our position and capitalizing on opportunities. Talbot and Schutte did a fantastic job under pressure.”


The next round is set for Phillip Island on August 24-25th, a circuit known for its fast, flowing layout that suits the Ferrari well. The team are optimistic about their chances as they were very strong here back in April for the first round of the series.


“We’re looking forward to Phillip Island,” Oon said. “It’s a track that plays to our strengths, and we’re ready to capitalize on that.”

The third round of the championship, held over the August 2-4 weekend, was anticipated to be challenging due to the track layout favouring the opposition.

Round Three Recap

Reigning Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS winner Liam Talbot has welcomed an early opportunity to sample Queensland Raceway prior to Round 3 at the circuit in a fortnight.

Joined by teammate Elliott Schutte in the second Arise Racing GT Ferrari 296 GT3, Talbot found the day productive as he aims to defend the seven-point lead he holds in the standings alongside Chaz Mostert.

“It’s good to have no pressure with time constraints and small practice windows to tune the car, play around with settings or understanding about the set-up, what does what and what can be improved or what is a backward step. In that respect the test day has been great.

“The negative is there are no other cars here, so we can’t draw a comparison. The track conditions vary to compare it to historical data, so we’re unsure where we are.

“It’s never a bad day at a test day as we understand the car further and continue to explore what the car is capable of.”

Talbot is vastly experienced in GT3 machinery and rates the 296 as the ultimate.

“I’ve previously driven the 458 and 488 Ferraris, so I have the understanding there,” Talbot explained.

“It feels like the mechanical grip of the 458 and it’s got even better aero than the 488, so the 296 has the best of both worlds.

A new operation this season, Arise Racing GT got off to the perfect start at Phillip Island and Talbot is eager to reward the team at season’s end.

“It’s interesting, there are a lot of unknowns entering with a new team and wondering how the dynamic plays out,” he reflected.

“Being involved from day one working with the team and watching it grow is really cool.

“We hit the ground running and we probably did this better than we should have.

Arise Racing GT’s two Ferrari 296 GT3s are on display at the Shannons Supercar Showcase beginning at 10am on July 20 (today).

The event will be hosted at the Shannons Showroom in Brisbane, 107 Fison Avenue Eagle Farm where the two Ferraris will be on display alongside the Triple Eight Race Engineering Mercedes-AMG GT3.

Liam Talbot welcomes extra Queensland miles

Arise Racing GT is putting its trust in its Bronze-rated drivers ahead of a crucial test day at Queensland Raceway on Friday.

Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS championship leader Liam Talbot and his stablemate Elliott Schutte will take the reins of the team’s Ferrari 296 GT3 at The Paperclip on Friday, getting valuable seat time and set-up information ahead of Round 3 at the Queensland venue next month.

The team’s ‘Pro’ drivers – Chaz Mostert and Jaxon Evans – are unavailable to test due to a clash of commitments with their Supercars duties in Sydney this week.

Team principal Jordan Oon says that giving Talbot and Schutte a full day of testing will deliver huge benefits for the Ferrari squad.

“It’s a really good track for Liam and Elliott to get seat time in the cars,” said Oon.

“We have been limited with the amount of testing between rounds, so some extra seat time for the two pre-event will be a big benefit.

“They are excited to get some extra laps in the car. In Pro-Am, the Bronze driver is really the one who can make the difference. Typically, the Pros get in and drive and are all very matched on pace. That’s not always the case for the AMs, so these test days are crucial.

Talbot and Mostert currently lead the title charge, just seven points clear of the ultra fast Audi of Brad Schumacher and Will Brown.

Schutte and Evans sit fourth overall, but only 20 points shy of their title leading Ferrari team-mates.

Oon says that he has been pleased with the start to the season, and more so, excited by the speed of his Bronze drivers.

“We always knew that Liam would be strong with the amount of experience he has in GT cars,” said Oon.


“And Elliott has really surprised us. He first drove a GT proper only at the start of this year, so his development curve has been outstanding.

Round 3 of Fanatec GT Australia will be run at Queensland Raceway on August 2-4, supported by Monochrome GT4 Australia. All qualifying and race sessions will be broadcast live and free on 7plus (in Australia), while international viewers can tune in on the GT World YouTube channel. 

Bronze drivers take lead test roles at Queensland Raceway

Another exceptional day unfolded for the Arise Racing GT team, as they celebrated a double podium finish with their cars securing second and third places. Team Principal Jordan Oon couldn’t hide his excitement and pride over the team’s performance.


“Another really great day overall for the team with a double podium, second and third,” Oon stated. Despite carrying significant success penalties from the previous day’s race, the team rose to the challenge. “Both cars carried some pretty hefty success penalties after race one yesterday and had to work for it a lot more, but yeah, some really, really mega racing.”


One of the standout moments was Elliot’s dramatic second-last lap pass, clinching the final spot on the podium. “Elliot’s second-last lap pass for the last stop on the podium was probably the highlight. The whole garage was cheering him on,” Oon recalled, highlighting the camaraderie and support within the team.

The team’s strategic prowess during pit stops played a crucial role in their success. “I think as well, the team did really great. We made the most of our pit stops, managed to jump a few of our key competitors, and came away with a larger points lead in the championship. So, couldn’t really ask for much more.”

The atmosphere was electric as the Arise Racing GT team celebrated a fantastic day on the track. Team Principal Jordan Oon expressed immense satisfaction with the team’s performance, noting significant improvements since their last outing at Phillip Island.

“Yesterday was an amazing day. The team’s really happy with how everything went and all the improvements from Phillip Island,” said Oon. The team showcased their prowess in qualifying 1, securing 1st and 2nd positions, and continued their strong performance with 3rd and 5th places in qualifying 2.

Despite the heavy traffic on the track, the Arise Racing drivers skillfully navigated the challenges. “There’s a lot of traffic being assured of track, but I think our drivers made the most of it,” Oon commented. The team’s efforts were rewarded with 2nd and 3rd places in Race 1, securing valuable points and maintaining a competitive edge against their main rivals in the championship.


Oon acknowledged a bit of bad luck during the pit stop, which cost them the lead, but praised Chaz for an excellent recovery to finish in 2nd place. “A little bit unlucky in the pit stop to lose the lead, but there’s not much you can do, and I think Chaz salvaged 2nd place really, really well.”

Looking ahead, Oon expressed optimism for the upcoming race. With the weather expected to be warmer, both professional drivers, Chaz and Jackson, are set to start the race. “I’m looking forward to the race today. I think the conditions are going to be a little bit warmer. We’ve got both pros starting the car, Chaz and Jackson, and yeah, it should be really, really exciting.”

Team Shines at The Bend

It proved a fairy tale debut for Arise Racing GT and its Ferrari 296 GT3 as Chaz Mostert greeted the flag helping Liam Talbot secure his third season opening race victory in the Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS at Phillip Island.

A late rain shower provided an enthralling climax to the race as the Dayle ITM Audi of Brendon Leitch scythed his way through the field during the closing stages and was closing on Mostert until the red flag was displayed ending the event early.

The Black Wolf Motorsport Mercedes-AMG with Ben Schoots at the wheel lost control coming onto the front straight and hit the tyre wall on the outside leading to the early finale to the opening event. Schoots emerged from the Mercedes-AMG and taken to the medical centre.

Mostert recovered from dropping five grid slots due to a penalty for speeding in pit lane to take victory, but Leitch was demoted to fourth after being penalised the equivalent of a pit lane penalty for passing Jaxon Evans under yellows exiting Southern Loop.

This elevated Evans and Elliott Schutte to second for an Arise Racing GT Ferrari 1-2, while Will Brown and Brad Schumacher rounded out the podium despite some wild moments early for the Bathurst local in the Shaw & Partners/Kelso Electrical Team MPC Audi.

A spin for Renee Gracie dropped her from second to ninth in the OnlyFans Team MPC Audi after a stirring opening stint from Paul Stokell put the entry in the lead when the pit window opened.

Triple Eight Race Engineering duo Peter Hackett and Declan Fraser finished fifth in the latter’s debut driving the Mercedes-AMG GT3, while the Grove Racing example was sixth.

Paul Lucchitti and Jayden Ojeda were seventh in the Realta-supported Tigani Motorsport Mercedes-AMG GT3 ahead of stablemates Valmont Racing as Sergio Pires and Marcel Zalloua took Am Class honours.

Rounding out the top 10 behind the OnlyFans Team MPC Audi was second in Am Class RAM Motorsport’s Michael Sheargold and Garth Walden.

The Koundouris brothers, James and Theo completed the Am Class podium in the Supabarn Supermarkets Mercedes-AMG GT3.

Rounding out the field was Alex Peroni and Mark Rosser’s Audi, Marc Cini, with the KMB Motorsport GT Trophy Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3 shared by Michael Bailey and Valentino Astuti.

Joining the Black Wolf Motorsport entry as retirements were Tony Bates after an off at Turn 1 and Ash Samadi with brake problems.

Race 2 for the Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS at Phillip Island is at 2:55pm.

Arise Racing GT's pair of Ferrari 296 GT3s have broken cover at Phillip Island today ahead of the opening round of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS at the same venue next week.

As part of an open test day at the famous Island circuit, Arise Racing GT has revealed its pair of 296s, being driven today by the team's Pro-Am combinations of Chaz Mostert/Liam Talbot and Jaxon Evans/Elliott Schutte.

 Raceway (Wanneroo), this is the first time that the new Ferraris have ventured across to the east coast for a public test day.

The Ferraris feature a traditional red colour scheme, with splashes of green and white reminiscent of the Italian flag, while yellow also adorns the 296 GT3s.

The open test day features many Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia cars, GT4 Australia Series, plus other local sportscars.
